The idea is to write, record, mix and master and album in the month of February! Audio Lab has signed up as a musical project called “Da Audio Lab” So what can you do? We are looking for student submission for this years Da Audio Lab 2019 RPM compilation album. Its easy enough, if you are interested in participating this is what is required:
- Submit an original composition recorded, mixed and “mastered” by you and/or your friends.
- Submit said recording by Tuesday February 26th to Lex at Audio Lab Studios (Dawson, Montreal Canada) in both a (high quality) mp3 and .WAV (or .AIFF) format. This deadline is not negotiable. All songs will be compiled and organized for the final Da Audio Lab RPM album by the Feb 28th RPM deadline.
- At a minimum Audio Lab needs 8-10 original songs to be submitted (at least 30 min of music).
So what else will we be doing? Well, its up to you – the Audio Lab student community. Based on the student interest, participation and INVOLVEMENT there are many things we could do.
Each semester Audio Lab is hoping to host one musical event at either Conrads or Oliver’s.
Here is a list of potential event ideas:
- Singer/Song Writing Circle – Share your compositions with others and get feedback in a songwriting circle/workshop.
- Mix Workshops – Share your compositions and mixes with others and getShare your compositions and mixes with others and get workshop feedback.
- Live Foley Events – Organize teams of live foley to play foley sounds over short film screening, live poetry or short scripts.
- Cincom Jam Nights – Come perform your music live or jam with other Cincom students. Non-Cincom band members welcome.
- Explorations in Electronic Music Night – Share your electronic and electro acoustic mixes with others students – Pre-recorded or live Dj performance welcome.
- Music and Visuals – Come jam/perform to visualization and video loops.
